At Sahyadri, we strive to create an environment in which children can grow up without fear, where their individual abilities and character are nurtured, where they learn to observe and make sense of the world they live in, at the same time learning to be a responsible member of a community.

For creating this environment we need individuals who are sensitive to the needs of children, who love working with children, who are willing to take up the challenge of engaging with children in an atmosphere of mutual respect. In addition to a strong academic foundation, teachers need to be willing to examine their own practices in relating with children in an atmosphere free from institutionalized punishments and rewards.
