Purna Banerjee – B.A. FineArts (Visva-Bharati University – Santiniketan – West Bengal) and M.A. Fine Arts (Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda).
Purna is an Art Teacher who has worked for 26 years in various residential schools. She loves to work alongside children.
She is enamoured by the beautiful, natural surroundings of the Sahyadri School campus. She enjoys sitting in the culture hut behind the art room and watch the river, the valley and the hills.
She loves reading from J. Krishnamurti’s numerous writings, and one of her favourite quotes is – “ To read this book which is oneself, one must have the art of listening to what the book is saying. To listen implies not to interpret what the book is saying. Just observe it as you would observe a cloud. You can’t do anything about the cloud, or the palm leaves swaying in the wind, or the beauty of the sunset; you can’t alter it. So one must have the art of listening to what the book is saying. The book is you; it will reveal everything.”
